영상 1도의 쌀쌀한 날씨 속에서 출근길을 재촉하던 시민들은 너나 할 것 없이 잠시 걸음을 멈추고 종로타워빌딩 뒤편의 골목길을 뚫어지게 쳐다봤다. 경찰이 쳐 놓은 폴리스라인 안쪽의 골목길은 일명 ‘화신먹거리촌’. 장안에서 ‘술 좀 마신다’고 자부하는 이들이라면 누구나 한번쯤은 들러봤을 만한 곳이다. 전날 오후 8시20분께 이곳에서 화재가 발생했다. 2시간여 동안 계속된 불은 화신먹거리촌 초입에 줄지어선 점포 23곳을 휩쓸었다. 지은 지 수십 년이 된 목조건물은 이웃사촌처럼 사이좋게 다닥다닥 붙어 있다가 일시에 화마에 스러졌다.

Neat. Reminds us a bit of Harpa, the building where we held a gathering in Reykjavik, Iceland. This video gives a nice tour, although it’s too bad that it misses out on sharing the exterior magic that occurs when night falls.
